the latest wells family antics

We are so lucky to still have our old nanny Dawn in our life.  My kids will always adore her.  Angela calls her, "My Dawnie!" and isn't happy when she sees her with other kids. Happy Birthday Dawn!

Chris got the opportunity to go deep sea fishing with his friend Ben Harding.  A tough life when you can jump on a friends boat instead of work on a Friday!  Regardless, the whole family benefited because we had fresh fish and chips for dinner that night.  YUM! (And yes, sometimes my kids just don't have clothes on.  Never sure why...)

Navy week on Boston meant the harbor was FILLED with amazing ships.  Lots of tall ships and naval ships right in our backyard.  Since we had already been on a tall ship I knew I had to get Rich on the air craft carrier.  The USS Wasp turned out to be a-mazing.  Huge doesn't even begin to describe how big it is.  You really do have to get on it to experience it.  Needless to say, with a 5 year old boy we did EVERYTHING!  We touched every gun, climbed through every tank and sat in every air craft.  And the naval officers on the boat were the sweetest.  They talked to every kid and answered questions all day long. A very memorable experience!

We had a wonderful weekend at Grandpa and Nana Sheila's NY house.  It is so quiet and peaceful with LOTS of room for the kids to run around and of course play baseball.  Hiking, delicious meals and strawberry picking finished off the visit.

Had a fun time golfing in NY with Grandpa!  Rich looks like a natural, no?  Check out that form and the picture he drew when we got home. We were also lucky enough to see our Saratoga friends the Blanco's.  Rich and Vanessa think they are hot stuff on the golf course.

An impromptu weekday trip to the beach.  We are very thankful for friends who have gorgeous houses on the ocean that they let us use.  Now that the kids are older a trip to the beach is so much easier and the favorite place to be in the summer.  We spent MANY days there this summer and hope this is a new summer tradition.  My kids could be out there until the sun sets (and then they sleep like a log!!).  Nothing better than the dog days of summer!

On the LAST week of school Rich had Monday off because of some ridiculous made up Massachusetts holiday!!  UGH for the working Mom.  Luckily we have amazing new friends so Richie got to spend the day with his friends Natalia and JoJo at their lake house in Westford.  These pictures tell the story of how much fun he had.  Plus the trampoline, pool, ice cream and much more.  Again, my kids are some of the luckiest out there!
