No school yet

Angela didn't start school until the Monday after Labor Day so her and I spent the week together.  It was so hard for me because I knew it was the last days I had with her alone.  My baby was growing up and I was sure going to miss our Mommy/Angela days.  But as sad as I was, she was SO ready.  She visited her classroom with huge smiles!  Played with friend Coleman and all of the new little friends she would have.  We also played with our friend Charlie (MayBeth's daughter) because MB had to start school, but Charlie didn't start until later as well.  I am SO glad I took the week off!  We had some quality girl time and Rich didn't have to go to the after school program.

First day of 1st grade!

It was a super short summer this year, so the first day of school came so quick.  Richard was so excited and we were able to walk with his friend Fineas again.  It was great to be back with Matthew, Tam, Owen and Fineas!  I can tell it will be a great year with Ms. Santos and these great buddies!  And I LOVE to see them all in their uniforms.

A two wheeler!

Guess who finally learned to ride a two wheeler!  Only ten minutes after taking his training wheels off he could do it.  Obviously he could have done it years ago, he was just too afraid.  I am so glad because I HATE those noisy training wheels.  Also, a lot of the other boys in the neighborhood could do it, so he needed to concur this rite of boyhood passage.

Our new carousel and fireworks

Image
We have been waiting a year (and $3 million dollars later!!) for our new carousel to open.  We were perfectly happy with our old (free) carousel on the Greenway, but I was actually very surprised how cool this one is.  It is all handmade with the ideas for what animals to make from Boston Public School children.  Come visit soon and check it out with us! We ended this night watching a fireworks display on the harbor.  Kept the kids up late, but you can't miss fireworks!

Long Beach in Plymouth, MA

Image
Nothing better than a summer day, a private beach and friends.  This day in Plymouth had all of that!  Our friends rented a house on Long Beach which you can only get to with a four wheel drive vehicle and a special permit.  Yes, I drove the Jeep out a few miles on this off roading trail.  Pretty hysterical! There was nothing there but lots and lots of friends.  I don't think I heard from the kids once except when they wanted to go on the jet ski with Wally!  We finished off the night with a huge seafood dinner and ice cream.  This is what summer is all about!

Kiddie pool

I guess the kids aren't too small for the kiddie pool yet!

Welcome to Kindergarten

Image
The Boston Public School does a free day at the Children's Museum for all kids entering Kindergarten (or K1) that year.  We did it for Rich so Chris took the kids this year for Angela.  They love to run around the Museum, get snacks and get to pretend to ride the school bus.
