Summer at the pool

Image
This is where the kids spent the majority of their summer week days...

Weekend in Wells, ME

Image
Spent the weekend in one of our favorite places on earth, Wells, ME.  Love the weekends we get to spend at this perfect beach.  I can tell my kids grew up here because cold water doesn't bother them and they spend the whole day in the water regardless of the water temp.  And the plus is the time we get to spend with our good friends the Shumways.

Sailing camp

Image
Richard worked tirelessly this summer at the pool learning to tread water and swim the length of the pool doing the crawl stroke.  2 minutes is a long time to tread water, and the length of the pool seemed daunting to him (even though he was a strong enough swimmer).  After many tears and practices at the pool, he did it!  He needed to pass this swim test to be allowed to attend sailing camp.  Since the camp is free I wasn't too worried if he couldn't pull it off, but I knew he would enjoy himself.  He passed the test and had a blast at camp.  It was called Harbor Explorers so not only did he sail in the harbor, they went fishing with rods and crabbing with pots.  We will certainly do more weeks of this camp next year.

Beach in Scituate

Nothing better than the beach, especially with our B Man!!  Bradley is a typical Wells child who likes to eat sand and crayons.

Swimming in the city

Part of why I love Boston is because it is on the water!  Our friends the Scarpa's live on the harbor so we spent a day with them at Constitution Beach in East Boston.  Love the Scarpa boys - Teagen and Teaven.

Summer in the city

We don't spend all that much time in the city in the summer.....but I do still love it! Can't beat this view from our roof deck!

Uncle Eddie's Fourth

Off to Uncle Eddie's house with more horsing around, sleepovers and swimming with all the cousins!

July 4/5th in LI

Another amazing weekend in LI for the Fourth.  Lots of time at the beach/pool (even though there was supposedly a hurricane - didn't stop us!!) and LOTS of cousin time.  Swimming, playing and sleepovers.  The weather turned out to be beautiful and kept everyone at home, but not us.
