Last days of summer with my helper bees

On this day the kids and I got busy in the kitchen.  We had a whole pile of veggies from our farm share that we needed to put into the freezer for the fall/winter.  The kids were amazing helpers.  They peeled and chopped almost everything!  It was a huge help and we are going to be so glad we did this work when we have our farm fresh carrots, etc long after their season is over.
We also made homemade salsa from our farm share for tailgating at the Pats game later.
After all that work, we went to the library to see a presentation by the Boston Nature Center.  The kids learned a ton and tried to remember some of the bird facts to quiz Grandpa later!

Single Mom - missing Daddy

Since Chris was away again for work, we had our first Mommy/Richie/Angela days. It was a lot of work, but I did it! I guess I can handle 2 kids at once. Here are some pictures of our days so Chris can see what we did and know we missed him. We did lots of extra fun stuff because I was bribing Richie so he would go get a hair cut. Well it worked! He is finally not a shaggy dog and he didn't cry again. I am so glad the meltdowns during hair cuts are gone. That first one was brutal. I will never forget it. Some of our first smiles! (Unfortunately my camera memory card was full so this video got cut off)

Red Sox game with our pal Colton

Another fun baseball game and this one we invited Richie's best bud Colton.  We used to invite our friends and now we invite the kids friends.  Luckily Colton's parents are our friends as well so a good time was had by all.   Since the Red Sox were playing the Yankees, Rich wore the special shirt Babci made for him (half Red Sox half Yankees).  He always gets a lot of attention from it.  And this time Angela really got into the game more than usual.  She was so excited from the second we told her we were going to the game.  She insisted on wearing her Red Sox hat and shirt.  She cracked up everyone on the train because of her outfit and how she just kept yelling about the Red Sox.  Big Papi is her favorite player and she yelled his name the whole game.  Check out the video!
