Puerto Rico - Day 2
On our first full day we headed to the beach at the end of our street called Sandy Beach. This beach was beautiful with huge waves. We immediately got our first taste of the surfing scene that Rincon is known for. We also realized that we were not in a tourist area although there was nothing else would could have needed. Our favorite part was that there was no one else there.
After spending the morning crashing in the waves and digging in the sand, we hit the Tamboo Bar for lunch. The first of many meals right on the ocean. After a little more beach time (and beach hockey that Richie had invented -- bamboo for sticks and a coconut as the puck!) the kids were exhausted so we put them in the car for a nap so we could explore Rincon. The town is small and very authentic although we found quite a few New Yorkers at the bars we went to!
Once the kids woke up we went to the Lazy Parrot/Rum Shack which was an outdoor bar/restaurant with a pool. Is there anything better than margarita's for the adults and swimming for the kids! Angela immediately decided that she could swim on her own and we had to let her.
