Loving to read????

Richard has really progressed into an amazing reader.  We are so proud of him, but who knew there would still be a problem.  He doesn't actually like to read.  I love to read so it is actually hard for me to understand. 
We have been trying so hard to find ways for him to love it, but it was only this week that we saw some progress.  Sports Illustrated Kids didn't do it, but this chapter book that he loves (Magic Treehouse - thanks Trent who gave him almost the whole series!) maybe did???  He read this whole chapter book in two sittings!  Maybe it is this book series, maybe it is knowing he can now read "big kid" chapter books?  We will just keep trying.  In the meantime, I love seeing his little nose in a book!

Single Mom - missing Daddy

Since Chris was away again for work, we had our first Mommy/Richie/Angela days. It was a lot of work, but I did it! I guess I can handle 2 kids at once. Here are some pictures of our days so Chris can see what we did and know we missed him. We did lots of extra fun stuff because I was bribing Richie so he would go get a hair cut. Well it worked! He is finally not a shaggy dog and he didn't cry again. I am so glad the meltdowns during hair cuts are gone. That first one was brutal. I will never forget it. Some of our first smiles! Red Sox game with our pal Colton

Another fun baseball game and this one we invited Richie's best bud Colton.  We used to invite our friends and now we invite the kids friends.  Luckily Colton's parents are our friends as well so a good time was had by all.   Since the Red Sox were playing the Yankees, Rich wore the special shirt Babci made for him (half Red Sox half Yankees).  He always gets a lot of attention from it.  And this time Angela really got into the game more than usual.  She was so excited from the second we told her we were going to the game.  She insisted on wearing her Red Sox hat and shirt.  She cracked up everyone on the train because of her outfit and how she just kept yelling about the Red Sox.  Big Papi is her favorite player and she yelled his name the whole game.  Check out the video!
