Angela's Publishing Party

Angela's class was having a Publishing Party at the exact time I was having my Lasik eye surgery so Chris and I absolutely could not go.  Once we told her this I could see the wheels turning in her head.  She said, "Mom, Ms. Simonini said Nana's could go.  Do you think Phyllis or Nana Mary could go?".  Phyllis is my friend who I volunteer on the Library Board with, and who is also the kids babysitter Jamie's, Nonnie.  Angela knows Nonna means Grandma in Italian.   Phyllis was away, but Nana Mary was free so she came up.  How sweet!  There is nothing better than friends who are also family.  We are thankful for all of our friends who are also family.
Nana Mary was Richard's Nanny when he was little and my good friend Kelley's Mom.  She has always been like a grandmother to the kids and they obviously feel that way as well!

Single Mom - missing Daddy

Since Chris was away again for work, we had our first Mommy/Richie/Angela days. It was a lot of work, but I did it! I guess I can handle 2 kids at once. Here are some pictures of our days so Chris can see what we did and know we missed him. We did lots of extra fun stuff because I was bribing Richie so he would go get a hair cut. Well it worked! He is finally not a shaggy dog and he didn't cry again. I am so glad the meltdowns during hair cuts are gone. That first one was brutal. I will never forget it. Some of our first smiles! Giggles!

Although Angela loves to smile (and does so ALL the time) she has been stingy with the belly laughs. Not this day!! She is totally a daddy's girl and he is the best at making her giggle. Enjoy - it is music to our ears.

Red Sox game with our pal Colton

Another fun baseball game and this one we invited Richie's best bud Colton.  We used to invite our friends and now we invite the kids friends.  Luckily Colton's parents are our friends as well so a good time was had by all.   Since the Red Sox were playing the Yankees, Rich wore the special shirt Babci made for him (half Red Sox half Yankees).  He always gets a lot of attention from it.  And this time Angela really got into the game more than usual.  She was so excited from the second we told her we were going to the game.  She insisted on wearing her Red Sox hat and shirt.  She cracked up everyone on the train because of her outfit and how she just kept yelling about the Red Sox.  Big Papi is her favorite player and she yelled his name the whole game.  Check out the video!
