Memorial Day weekend 2010


We had another AMAZING weekend at the beach! I am really starting to think that we are good luck for beach weather. It is still May and we had 3 days of the best weather you could ask for in Maine. Our friends the Shumways invited us to their house on the ocean and boy did we take full advantage of the time off and enjoyed ourselves. My kids adore Kevin and Joanna, which makes the weekend even more special.
I truly think the ocean is Richie's most favorite place on earth. He finds the energy to spend the entire day (and he seems to get up early those days!!) outside in the sand. We were also lucky enough to have our friend Maggie join us for a night. She was a little daredevil as well!

This a picture of Richie in his mini pond. The term he coined for the pools that form during low tide. Chris would help him fancy them up each and every time the tide went in and out.

Richie LOVES Joanna and Kevin. Poor Kevin couldn't leave the vicinity without Richie asking where he went. I don't think they had a very relaxing weekend until we left! They are so good with the kids.

Single Mom - missing Daddy

Since Chris was away again for work, we had our first Mommy/Richie/Angela days. It was a lot of work, but I did it! I guess I can handle 2 kids at once. Here are some pictures of our days so Chris can see what we did and know we missed him. We did lots of extra fun stuff because I was bribing Richie so he would go get a hair cut. Well it worked! He is finally not a shaggy dog and he didn't cry again. I am so glad the meltdowns during hair cuts are gone. That first one was brutal. I will never forget it. Some of our first smiles! (Unfortunately my camera memory card was full so this video got cut off)

Red Sox game with our pal Colton

Another fun baseball game and this one we invited Richie's best bud Colton.  We used to invite our friends and now we invite the kids friends.  Luckily Colton's parents are our friends as well so a good time was had by all.   Since the Red Sox were playing the Yankees, Rich wore the special shirt Babci made for him (half Red Sox half Yankees).  He always gets a lot of attention from it.  And this time Angela really got into the game more than usual.  She was so excited from the second we told her we were going to the game.  She insisted on wearing her Red Sox hat and shirt.  She cracked up everyone on the train because of her outfit and how she just kept yelling about the Red Sox.  Big Papi is her favorite player and she yelled his name the whole game.  Check out the video!
