Face painting

Our days of leaving the kids unattended for just 5 minutes are over. Since we had to head out of town quickly after work, Chris and I were each busy around the house packing and getting ready. One of us was constantly checking on the kids, but for 5 minutes they were left alone.

In those 5 minutes, Richie was able to get the water colors (luckily only water colors!), get some water in the bathroom sink and paint. The best part was after seeing Richie's face (and trying to laugh about it) was having Angela come around the corner....and her face was painted as well! The kids thought this was all very normal. Funny how Richie has never agreed to get his face painted at any carnival or fair we have ever been to.

Oh and he said he painted himself a pirate!

I totally remember that stage! There's no way to tie them down (in bouncy seat for example), or cage them in (in pack-n-play for example), so you just TRUST that they'll be okay. LA once put Dora band-aids all over her body and face -- in the 5 minutes I wasn't looking. Oh well. It's great you can laugh. This stage will be over faster than you know it.

Single Mom - missing Daddy

Since Chris was away again for work, we had our first Mommy/Richie/Angela days. It was a lot of work, but I did it! I guess I can handle 2 kids at once. Here are some pictures of our days so Chris can see what we did and know we missed him. We did lots of extra fun stuff because I was bribing Richie so he would go get a hair cut. Well it worked! He is finally not a shaggy dog and he didn't cry again. I am so glad the meltdowns during hair cuts are gone. That first one was brutal. I will never forget it. Some of our first smiles! (Unfortunately my camera memory card was full so this video got cut off)

Red Sox game with our pal Colton

Another fun baseball game and this one we invited Richie's best bud Colton.  We used to invite our friends and now we invite the kids friends.  Luckily Colton's parents are our friends as well so a good time was had by all.   Since the Red Sox were playing the Yankees, Rich wore the special shirt Babci made for him (half Red Sox half Yankees).  He always gets a lot of attention from it.  And this time Angela really got into the game more than usual.  She was so excited from the second we told her we were going to the game.  She insisted on wearing her Red Sox hat and shirt.  She cracked up everyone on the train because of her outfit and how she just kept yelling about the Red Sox.  Big Papi is her favorite player and she yelled his name the whole game.  Check out the video!
